Somewhere in Switzerland, the Society of St Pius X has convened in General Chapter. Notably, the event comes days after the 18th anniversary of the excommunication of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and the four bishops he ordained in defiance of the Apostolic See.
I'm keeping my ear to the ground for details on the election of the Society's new Superior General in succession to Mons. Bernard Fellay. Of course, the selection will be of great import given Benedict XVI's outreach to the Lefebvrist movements in the hope of healing the most seismic ecclesiastical divide of the 20th century.
Fret not -- as soon as anything trips the wires, you'll know.
